2013 – Another Year Begins

By the time you read this, unless the Lord has come, it will be the new year 2013. A brand new year untouched by our hands. What’s the first thing you are going to do this new year?

As I have done for many years, I will start the year off with prayer – for my home and family, for our city, state, and country, and for our leaders. I will pray for the under-shepherd that the Lord has placed in my local church. And I will pray for myself – that I will remember to consciously place myself in the Lord’s hands each and every day for HIS service.

With the problems that our country, state, city, and families are encountering every day, more Christians need to do this. And that is my challenge to you as this new year starts. 2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV) says, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” How many of us lift up our country to the Lord in prayer? How many of us seek the face of the Lord on a daily basis, to hear from Him? How many of us acknowledge that we, yes us Christians, have wicked ways and then turn from those ways? God has never lied, and never will. If you want to see our land healed, then follow the prescription he has laid out in this verse.

Are you up to the challenge?
